As 2012 approached I began to search deep within myself to find what really gave me pleasure and a sense of purpose. I knew that I enjoyed talking with people and hearing about their life. I am also very concerned about the welfare of people and animals throughout the world as well as the environment. So, I began to envision a new direction in life that would incorporate the two and possibly lead to a purposeful career.

The outcome from my envisioning is two fold. I have decided to use this website, MichaelTBishop.com, to profile individuals and organizations from around the world that are dedicated to enriching the lives of others and the world around them. The second path is to use my existing skills and knowledge to start a new business endeavour in which I will develop websites for those people and organizations that are enriching the world.

I will begin by writing profiles of outstanding individuals and organization on this website that are out of my immediate reach with hope that some day I will be able to do a video interview with them. In addition I will record video interviews with others and publish them on the site. My goal is to motivate people and show that they too can change the lives of others.

My other endeavour is Act Up Media which you can visit today. It will be my primary source of income until this site is able to bring in revenue.

I look for your encouragement and support as I move forward in this new direction in life.

I wonder if these issues are inevitable or are there ways for humanity to co-exist within the world so that everyone can wake up each morning with a smile on their face and unburdened of the daily struggle.

I ask myself:

Must someone be unhappy or unwell for another to be happy?

Can I wear a pair of shoes without someone having to toil in unsafe work conditions for long hours at substandard wages?

Can I stay warm during the winter without someone in Texas having their drinking water polluted due to Fracking?

Can I eat fruits and vegetables without someones health being put at risk because of the application of pesticides and herbicides on the crops they tend to?

Can I easily travel across town without a large cost to myself and others through taxes, fuel, and segregating myself from others traveling the same path?

How do I live my life so that others are equally free to live their life with a smile?
